Safeguarding & Child Protection Statement

Safeguarding Children at Coaching by Kirsty

At Coaching by Kirsty, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every child I work with is my highest priority. I am committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel supported, respected, and able to grow in confidence and resilience.

My Safeguarding Commitment

I am committed to:

• Protecting children from harm, abuse, and neglect
• Promoting children’s emotional and physical wellbeing
• Working in partnership with parents, carers, schools, and professionals
• Acting promptly on any safeguarding concerns
• Maintaining clear professional boundaries at all times
• Creating safe coaching spaces that are inclusive, respectful, and child-centred

 My Responsibilities

As a children’s coach, I am responsible for:

• Holding an Enhanced DBS
• Maintaining up-to-date Safeguarding Training
• Holding Paediatric First Aid certification
• Following UK safeguarding guidance and reporting procedures
• Ensuring all sessions (1:1 and group) are run safely
• Keeping appropriate records securely and confidentially

 If I Have a Concern

If I have concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, I will follow appropriate safeguarding procedures. This may include:

• speaking with the parent or carer, unless this places the child at further risk
• contacting the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (if applicable)
• seeking advice from local safeguarding services

I always act in the best interests of the child.

Parent & Carer Partnership

Parents are kept informed, respected, and involved wherever appropriate. I believe in open, honest communication and work collaboratively to ensure each child feels supported both at home and during coaching.
